Halloween Outfit Inspiration
Our lovely monthly journal collaborator Lola Jones, put together a few Halloween-inspired outfits with Nellie Quats AW23 collection pieces at the core. Accessories for each outfit were mostly handmade or something they already had at home.
We hope you find some inspiration to reuse clothing you already have or consciously shop for outfits that can keep being worn beyond Halloween.
For those of you who make a costume with NQ pieces - make sure to tag us so we can see your creations (however simple!)
Happy Halloween!!
WITCH
I always find witches outfit the easiest to style and the one that can look the most impressive. Here we wore Checkers dress and accessorised it with oversized witches hat, handmade broom (I made it years ago with a quirky tree branch I found in the woods and lots of thin twigs tied with a gardener’s strings around one end). We also added some brightly coloured tights and a cauldron.
MARTIAN / ALIEN
With Draughts dress at the core of this outfit, we simply added lots of self-adhesive googly eyes to my daughters face and made a funny hair style with three buns at the top - like three little antennas.
SNAIL
For this outfit my toddler is wearing Mother May I dress in cream and oat check linen paired with a handmade snail shell that I made out of brown paper and the headband. We also added brown tights and shoes.
AUTUMN QUEEN
Here we wore Marbles dress in Feather Meadow Liberty print cotton and added a gold crown we already had in our dress-up box and the leaf umbrella (the process of how I made this, I share here in this journal) paired with brown tights and shoes.
BUTTERFLY
This one is by far my favourite. I just love the way it turned out!
With Mother May I dress in rose pink linen at the core of this outfit, we added DIY cardboard butterfly wings in pink and white (I used Mer Mag’s design as an inspiration), frilly white socks and pink velvet shoes.
